.....the 21st Century. I don't know why but when I completed this piece and subsequently did the portrait version of it, Cathy in "Wuthering Heights" sprang to mind ...... just my interpretation, yours, of course could be very different Perhaps it was the fact she was above the ocean with her hair blowing in the breeze, in quiet reverie, slight anguished look on her face ..... contemplating options that she knows full well would only lead to disaster .........
